Javea: the most authentic and complete town in the Marina Alta

Javea (Xàbia in Valencian) is one of the most complete and beloved towns by the international community in Spain. It combines three features that few places have together: a well-preserved medieval historic center with the Gothic-Mediterranean church of San Bartolomé as its jewel, an active fishing port with a daily fish market, and a coastal area (Arenal) with a promenade, beach bars, and the only fine sandy beach in the area (the rest are rocky coves). It has 28,000 registered inhabitants but over 60,000 in summer. The gastronomy is exceptional: BonAmb (2 Michelin stars), Tula (Michelin star), and a dozen excellent rice dishes by the sea. It is dominated by Cabo de San Antonio to the north (marine natural park) and Cabo de la Nao to the south (100m cliffs).

Who is Jávea / Xàbia for?

Javea attracts international buyers looking for Spanish authenticity without sacrificing infrastructure. It is the typical choice for premium British, senior Dutch, and professional German buyers. It is also popular among many Spanish families from Valencia and Madrid seeking a second home. It is not a party destination; it is a destination for a good life.

Jávea / Xàbia vs Denia

Javea is more authentic and elegant than Denia, with lower tourist density. Denia is more urban and has a ferry. Javea better preserves its old town. Similar price (€3,200/m² vs €2,900/m²).
