Torrevieja
84,000 habitantes · 47 km de Alicante
Torrevieja combines affordable prices with strong holiday rental demand, making it one of the most liquid real estate markets on the Costa Blanca. La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons —declared a Nature Reserve and famous for their pink waters— and the microclimate, considered by the WHO among the healthiest in the world, have attracted Nordic retirees and Scandinavian buyers for decades.
The city offers over 20 km of coastline with urban beaches and coves, a well-kept seafront promenade and a vibrant international life with consolidated communities of British, Scandinavian, Russian and Belgian residents. The real estate market is highly diverse: bungalows in gated communities with shared pool from €80,000, beachside apartments, penthouses with terrace and modern villas in the northern coastal developments (Cabo Cervera, Lago Jardín).
Property turnover is very high (average holiday rental yield of 7.4% per year) and active inventory exceeds 100 properties at any given time. It's the ideal area for buyers looking for investment, second home or retirement with good connectivity (47 km to Alicante airport, 60 km to Murcia-Corvera).

The capital of the expat community on the Costa Blanca South
Torrevieja is the most international city in the province: of 88,000 registered residents, nearly 50% are foreigners, with over 100 nationalities represented. It has the highest number of British, Polish, Russian, Scandinavian, and Romanian residents per capita in Spain. The city features two natural salt lagoons (Salinas de Torrevieja, one pink due to salt — an Instagram phenomenon), 20 km of coastline with beaches (La Mata, El Cura, Los Locos, Cabo Cervera), a large marina, public and private hospitals (Quirónsalud), shopping centers (Habaneras, Zenia Boulevard just 10 minutes away), all types of international supermarkets, and consulates from Poland, Russia, and Ukraine. There is a vibrant Polish community: weekly Catholic mass in Polish, supplementary Polish school, shops, restaurants, and dentists. It is known as the 'little Poland' of Spain.
